8 weeks - 4 days
2 lb. 8 oz.
My goodness, she is eating more than I thought!
One of the things I just love about puppies/dogs is
something I call 'froggy legs'.
When the dog lies down, they stretch their back
legs out behind them.
Puppies do 'everything' so quickly that it is very
hard to catch a picture like this.
A friend from New Jersey send (below)
this letter to me the other day.
That was the day I was having the 'bad' day with
Sparkle. That was the same day
I was thinking about sending Sparkle FedEx back to
the breeder...lol.
Thank the Lord for good friends who know just
'what' to say to cheer you up.
Hi Sharon& Sparkle;
I just looked it up in a book but it is
at least four months before a poodle has control of it's bladder.
It says toy poodles take longer because
they have smaller bladders and bowels.
They also have a higher metabolic rate.
So she can't help her mistakes and either can you.
I felt a whole lot better after reading her
comments.

Sparkle went to a funeral service at the church
today.
She was as quiet as a church mouse.
Sparkle is also being trained to be a 'Service
Dog' just like Chanda.
It is important that she learn to be in all
different kinds of environments...
and...to be quiet. Being 'quiet' is not the
easiest thing for a little dog.
Service Dogs
provide people a quality of life that sometimes
might not be possible otherwise.
Chanda knew exactly 1/2 hour before I was going
to get a
migraine and would always alert me to that fact.
Usually, the migraines would start in the middle
of the night, and by
morning the migraine would have a strangle-hold
on me. I suffered for 10 years
before we got Chanda. Did I know that she could
do this? No! It was just one
of those 'blessings' that came into my life.
When she was slapping me in the middle
of the night to wake me up, I thought it was
because she wanted to go 'potty'.
Before I could get back to sleep, my head was
rockin' and rollin'.
It wasn't long before I caught on to what Chanda
was doing...
and learned to take the medication right away.
There are a lot of articles being written about
'what' Poodles are now being used to do.
Their sense of smell is so keen, that they are one
of the best dogs for alerting diabetics
when their blood sugar level is going to drop, thus preventing them from
going into a coma.
Poodles are also being used to sniff and detect
cancer.
So you see, they are not just 'designer' dogs...but
truly amazing little dogs!
Lesson learned today:
Not everyone appreciates a 'dog' being in church...
but we should learn to be tolerant of people with disabilities.
We should also be aware of the laws about 'Service
Dogs'.
They are providing a better quality of life for people who might not
otherwise be able to even leave their homes.
It is against the law to refuse admittance,
any place or anywhere,
Fortunately, the next generation will be more
tolerant of people with disabilities!
